drupal web links module
http://drupal.org/project/weblinks 6.x-2.3 on 6.14
Main function:
Provide a web site links section to a site.
Example function:
Starting a one way or reciprocal links section.
Manage:
Web links offers quite an intricate settings menu with many options, and it takes some testing to grasp it. A bit much to enumerate here.
Experience:
Not every theme appears to follow what the you or the web links want it to do.
The web links module (6.x-2.3) is not doing what I am expecting it to do, in two instances:
1. The settings > links settings > link settings > "Display URL/Visit on links page:" (Yes/No), "Determines whether the URL or invitational link (next setting) will be used on the links page. It will always be shown on a node view page."
But in effect the Yes/No instruction here always goes for both, the links page and the node page in the same way. In other words the link will show either twice (on the links page and on the node) or it won't show anywhere.
2. A more personal point is the mention of "weblinks" in practically all menu's and file paths, which I believe is not necessarily a good name in terms of SE friendliness. To change these, menu items must be changed and file paths need to be manual controlled in URL aliases.
I understand the direct links feature from titles to the external sites was added in 6.x-2.3. But this link will not read the URL alias. Instead it defaults to original "weblinks/goto/nn". Brrr.
As for no link or a double link, for now I'm staying with the double link. Not much else to do. Follow this: http://drupal.org/node/586110
