Apparently currently the most forward looking image sliders or slideshows for D6, with forward compatibility to D7 are:
- http://drupal.org/project/views plus - http://drupal.org/project/views_slideshow plus, for more coolness - http://drupal.org/project/views_slideshow_ddblock but ddblock does not work with views/slideshow version 3 (yet?)
http://drupal.org/project/jcarousel is
