Let's be very clear about this. And keep it short.
1. The Border Wall
The people who elected Donald Trump voted for him because he promised a costly wall at the Mexican border paid for by the Mexican people. He shouted it thousands of times at campaign rallies, national and international television.
He was probably elected by jokers who wanted to see how the hell he was going to do that. At least, I almost would have, until I sensed that his plan did not stand a chance of working out in any way, and bordered on lunacy.
Let's not get into the nutty way of how he was going to get that done.
There was never a campaign promise for a wall paid for by the American people. The wall Donald Trump wants to build now with national emergency powers, paid for with American taxpayer money, is not what any of his supporters voted for.
Anyone claiming now that he must build this wall with American taxpayer money because it was his campaign promise is out of their head.
2. The National Emergency
Donald Trump: Illegal immigration on the U.S.-Mexico border is "the lowest in 17 years." Google it, he said it.
Donald Trump: “I can do the wall over a longer period of time. I didn’t need to do this. I would rather do it much faster.” Google it, he said it.
So, that is not a National Emergency. No need to Google it.
3. Remember this one ?
I couldn't stop laughing when reading this. The eerie thing is, he actually meant it, and he even got elected. Strange, those Americans.
